OVERVIEW & BRIEF
Newmark is a world-class specialist management company of African luxury hotels and reserves, located in South Africa, Mauritius, Zanzibar, Nigeria and the Serengeti. The Newmark brand lives by the promise of ‘Experience Authentic’ - authentic experiences, authentic to the location, environments, and people of each of their properties. From boutique luxury hotels, vibrant city hotels, inspiring safari lodges and blissful island getaways - they curate occasions to excite, serve, sooth and enchant guests from around the globe.
The “brand refresh” of the Newmark Hotels & Reserves branding was an awesome brief, allowing me the opportunity to give the existing Newmark branding an injection of life through incorporating shapes, colours, movement and flow to the various brand elements across all brand channels.
PROPERTIES
With over 20 properties within the Newmark portfolio, each with their own unique look and feel, working as a freelance creative for this brand is exciting and fast paced, and requires a multitude of creative solutions to be conceptualised and executed on a daily basis.
Some of my responsibilities include designing hotel branded stationary items, branding for events and sales expos as well as emails, menus and promotional flyers.
BRANDING
I was also briefed with branding and logo design tasks from time to time for new properties as well as updating existing properties brand CI guides. These briefs allowed me the creative freedom to explore a property's personality and spend time fleshing out how this would be best expressed through a logo, icons and colour scheme, and then applying this branding throughout all brand touchpoints.
