For the adventurous yet discerning sock connoisseur, Foot Cardigan is playful sockwear subscription brand that radiates optimism with the best combination of colour, comfort, and cheer for men, woman and children all over the globe. Energy, artistry and play are key elements of the Foot Cardigan brand that resonate through each touch point, from the website and digital marketing elements through to final product.

As the freelance designer for Foot Cardigan I was given the opportunity to work on a brand update for the Foot Cardigan brand CI, elevating the current character of the brand to a slightly more modern, refined and retro feel whilst still making sure the overall brand gives FUN.

This updated brand look and feel was executed over all brand touch points - redesigning the website, our brand emailers as well as print collateral and packaging for our monthly sock subscription boxes.

Designing emailers for Foot Cardigan involves creating funky and approachable designs that align with the brand's look and feel. These emailers, being the primary touchpoint with consumers, must be both functional and attractive in order to build interest, foster customer relationships, and create an engaged audience, ultimately maximising sock sales.

The designs were mainly focussed on discounts and sales campaigns with call outs to savings, as well as being the platform to announce new sock designs and acting as a reminder about upcoming holidays along with the appropriate holiday themed socks to make your day feel even more special.

When it comes to illustrating new designs for Foot Cardigan socks I get to let my creativity run wild. Creating designs for every occasion from the all important 20th of April (IYKYK) to Father’s Day and everything in between.

The only limiting factor for these illustrations is the different cotton and polyester colours available from the supplier to use, a maximum of 5 - 7 colours per design, as well as the pattern being perfectly repeating for ease of print and scaling for sock sizes.

Some design are loud and extra quirky for special occasions, whilst others are more toned down for the corporate footwear lover (who doesn’t want to steal the show at their board meetings, but still wants to have that extra flavour).
